Growing Business-Savvy!

Growing Business-Savvy!

Both the IT giants, Google and Apple have revamped their business model which ensures that you get more money for each downloaded app by the consumers. According to reports, both Google and Apple have been internally testing out the viability of this process. For iOS developers, their share will be only paid after a consumer has been subscribed for more than a year. Google on the other hand, is flexible and lenient enough to release the money in the direction of Android developers right away. Android is the most popular mobile platform in developing countries, primarily due to its availability of affordable devices. While iOS have kept its sanctity with stringent app certification norms, Android has flourished with its open-source approach that comes with its own caveats. Facebook Is Prepping Up In a New Way!

Facebook Is Prepping Up In a New Way!

Facebook is testing a new feature that will give users the option to publish a post only to the News Feed and not on their Timeline. This feature will let users post as much as they want on the News Feed without having it saved in its profile history. Currently, Facebook only allows users to hide posts in their Timelines manually after they have posted it on the social platform. Now, Facebook has confirmed that it is testing a feature that will let users pre-determine whether a particular post will go on the Timeline, or not. As mentioned by Facebook, the feature is only under testing, and hence may not be seen by all users on apps or the desktop site. The Boon of Social Media for School Students

The Boon of Social Media for School Students

Many cities around the world are building new social media guidelines for students in the age group of 12. These guidelines serve as a companion for the age group of 13. For the 13+ guidelines, the teens wanted them in infographic form. They wanted the district to recognize that students are using social media for academic and career success and respect their use of these platforms. Preteens, on the other hand, prefer to have the guidelines in an activity book format. These guidelines are helping teachers and parents become comfortable with using social media. Teachers tested them on students and the students were pleased with the results. Read more at: http://theinnovativeeducator.blogspot.in/2016/05/stop-fighting-social-media-start.html

Introducing Gradient Boosting Machines

Introducing Gradient Boosting Machines

Currently one of the state of the art algorithms in Machine Learning is Gradient Boosting Machine (GBM). GBM can be used for regression, based on decision trees as prediction models. In GBMs, the learning procedure consecutively fits new models to provide a more accurate estimate of the response variable. The principle idea behind this algorithm is to construct the new base-learners to be maximally correlated with the negative gradient of the loss function, associated with the whole ensemble. The loss functions applied can be arbitrary, but to give a better perception, if the error function is the classic squared-error loss, the learning procedure would result in consecutive error-fitting. The Progressing Steps of India

The Progressing Steps of India

The motive of capital good policy is noble, but not its implementation. The policy fails to address the basic problem of lack of research to improve manufacturing units. Thus the policy fails to expand the share of manufacturing in GDP. As India is rapidly globalizing, it needs to improve its manufacturing process using better machinery, newer intelligence and better quality raw materials. Automated assembly lines and lean production techniques must be put in use. Similarly, artificial intelligence and bid-data analytics will help the Indian companies improve their productivity and increase profits. India should gear up for advanced manufacturing in areas such as aircraft manufacture, materials, microelectronics and telecommunications. Most importantly, India needs to develop a knowledge ecosystem that includes a good intellectual property regime to foster innovation and creativity. Are Online Portals Under Attack?

Are Online Portals Under Attack?

The increasing demands for online goods have led to a loss of revenue for those who delivers goods within the state. This led to the introduction of entry tax legislation targeting specifically the online portals although levying such tax is quite controversial as it is against our constitution which allows free trade within the country. Ironically the commerce sectors tend to bring cross-border equity by levying these taxes when in reality these levies create unwarranted divisions. Thus the ultimate expectation is that these levels will be subsumed by the GST and the state of issue should lawfully obtain their revenue from sales. In conclusion, these short sighted moves of states should be discouraged at that moment when ecommerce boom which led to a sale of goods worth $12 billion in India during 2015. The Playoff Between PR Campaign And Advertising Campaign

The Playoff Between PR Campaign And Advertising Campaign

The public is yet to discriminate the thin line between PR Campaigning and Advertising Campaigning. The difference lies in the face that advertising campaign is a first party approach while PR campaigning is a third party approach. When a television channel broadcasts a product or when you see any hoarding showing any product that is called advertising. On the other hand, when newspaper talks about a product, that's what is called PR campaigning. Advertising may sound to be a better way to promote your product, but in reality a person is more motivated and interested about it when he learns it from another person or newspaper, thus a strong relationship with a journalist can give you an upper hand in your campaigning. Celebrities endorsing a brand do help with advertising, but one must know remember that advertising is “paid visibility” while PR campaigning is “earned visibility”!
